Symptoms Of The Flu In People Over 65

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that those over 65 years old are most likely to get sick and die from flu like symptoms. In fact, they estimate that between 75-80% of all flu deaths occur each year in the population of adults that are 65 years old or older.

If you are in this population of adults that has a propensity to get severely sick from the flu, it is important to know what symptoms to be on the lookout for. They include:

  • fever
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • runny or stuffy nose
  • body aches
  • headache
  • chills
  • fatigue
